Web Viewer / Best way to Present to Clients?
« on: 18 October 2013 01:13 am »
Hi Richard,

Currently we have two ways of sharing: public and personal. Public sharing makes your project visible to everyone on the Revizto website and, if you specify, allows to open 3D in Web Viewer. If you make your project Public, enable 3D and share a link with your client - client will have no problems in accessing it.

However, only relatively small projects now can be opened with the web viewer. For the big projects you'll not be able to allow showing 3D in the Web VIewer. For such projects you should use private sharing by email.

Private sharing allows a client to see your project in his Revizto Viewer application when he is logged in. He will also be able to open it in browser with the same link as you (but if the project is set to "private" - he must be logged in). With the edit rights your client will be able to view the model and upload screenshots and videotracks directly to the project.

So in your case the summary is:

You make the project public, and everybody is able to view it in Web Viewer without even logging in (including your client).

You make it private and share by email - only your client will see it, but he must be logged in.

Hope this helps.

Regards,
Alexey.

Export from Revit / Custom Assets in Revit
« on: 18 October 2013 12:40 am »
Hi David,

The process of getting custom materials showed correctly is two-step. Firstly, you need to select the option "Export custom materials" during the export from Revit (this step you've done already).

Secondly, when the model is opened in Revizto Editor, you need to click the "Get Materials" toolbar button to convert the materials. (This should work with custom assets as well).

You need to have active Internet connection to perform this operation.

Be aware that Get Materials button will work only if you haven't saved your model in the editor already. Most likely you'll have to export your model from Revit again to perform this step.

Hope this helps.

Regards,
Alexey.

Installation / Problems installing Revizto for Revit
« on: 09 October 2013 01:04 am »
Hello,

If you are not trying to launch Revizto on a virtual machine, please download and extract this archive:

https://s3.amazonaws.com/vimbuilds/HaspDinstRelease/Revizto+protection+system+installer.zip

and run "install.bat". Then try to launch Revizto. If the problem persists, please try to run "install.bat" again after disabling antivirus software (which may prevent the normal installation behavior).

If you are trying to launch Revizto on a virtual machine – this is the reason of the problem. Revizto doesn’t work on virtual machines (except network license server). For Mac users it is only possible with Windows installed as a separate OS via BootCamp.

Hope this helps.

Export from Revit / Revit Linked Models & Section Box Tool
« on: 09 October 2013 01:00 am »
Hi William,

To make section box working on linked projects, you just need to do a little setup. While exporting a linked project, Revizto add-in searches through linked files for the views with the same name as selected view in the current model. In case of success, only these views are exported from linked projects. Otherwise, it exports the whole model of the link.

When you export your model from Revit to FBX, a lot of important imformation is being lost. For example, all the information about object categories, that helps us to properly set the collisions. In FBX we may turn the collisions on across the whole scene, but then it would become impossible to walk through doors. So right now we've decided to set everything to non-collision. Falling to the abyss is a known problem, and we are going to solve it somehow in next versions.

Hope this helps.

General / Black View?
« on: 30 September 2013 06:38 am »
Hi Scott,

Your hardware looks to be at edge of compatibility. I've checked Acer website for graphics drivers for your laptop, and here is the link:

http://global-download.acer.com/GDFiles/Driver/VGA/VGA_Intel_8.15.10.2182_W7x86W7x64_A.zip?acerid=634406173306015842&Step1=NOTEBOOK&Step2=ASPIRE&Step3=ASPIRE%205733&OS=ALL&LC=en&BC=ACER&SC=PA_6

Please try to install this driver and tell whether this helps.

Visualisation / I can not see Light settings
« on: 08 June 2013 05:54 am »

OK. screenshot can be found here: http://www.ulozto.cz  Search: revizto for su
Ok, we got it! The reason is that unlike Revit, SketchUp doesn’t have built-in light sources, so we’ve disabled this function in Revizto for SketchUp. Nevertheless, in Revizto 1.2, which will be released soon (1-2 weeks), Revizto will have its own plugin for SketchUp, and you’ll be able to define objects that host light sources there. So you’ll have the ability to work with light sources (set up different settings and edit position) inside Revizto Editor.

By the way, Revizto 1.2 will have its own trial period of 30 days, which doesn’t intersect with the trial period of current version.

If you want, we can notify you via email when Revizto 1.2 comes out.

Hope this helps.

Visualisation / Lighting settings
« on: 13 June 2013 05:45 am »
Thank you for the idea, we will think about the way how to improve the usability of lighting settings. If you have any other thoughts or suggestions about possible improvements, please do not hesitate to share them with us!

As for now, you can test lighting settings by calculating a light map of the lowest quality.

Export from SketchUp / Exporting process causes Skp to crash
« on: 09 August 2013 03:42 am »
Hi Christian,

I’ve sent you the instructions on how to install the latest version of our plugin to your email. If this doesn’t help in your case, I think you should try reinstalling SketchUp, cause unfortunately we cannot reproduce the crash.

Hope this helps.

Export from SketchUp / Exporting process causes Skp to crash
« on: 30 July 2013 07:16 am »
Christian,

It seems that it is something specific in your SketchUp project that causes exporter to crash. We got your model and we will look into this. As soon as we get any clue on the reason of the problem, we will immediately contact you.

Export from SketchUp / Size limit on Sketchup files?
« on: 04 July 2013 01:44 pm »
pj,

Could you please somehow send us the initial .skp file so we can identify the reason of the problem? Dropbox public link would be perfect. You can leave a link in a personal message to me or Oleg.

Hi Phillip,

Thank you for reporting an issue! We need a simple sample Revit model that has problems to see why this is happening.

Installation / Problems installing Revizto for Revit
« on: 02 June 2013 11:29 pm »
Hello,

Unfortunately, virtual machines are deliberately not supported due to performance and security reasons. So the only possible solution is to install Windows as a separate OS on your Mac. Sorry :(
